LGBT Services Directory A guide compiled by our friends at the Lesbian & Gay Family Building Project, contains a resource guide of LGBT affirming and friendly service providers. Search for medical providers, counselors and therapists, even camps and churches! The guide covers much of upstate New York and includes many providers in the Southern Tier.
The Cube: The Cube offers a safe and supportive environment for the entire LGTBQ community and their allies. located next door to Identity, The Cube hosts programs for people over 18.
COLAGE: COLAGE is a national movement of children, youth, and adults with one or more lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer (LGBTQ) parents.
Binghamton Pride Coalition: An organization of LGBTQ individuals, groups and allies established in 2005. The Coalition works to end oppression based upon sexuality and gender, promotes pride and visibility, and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer lives, communities, and cultures in the greater Binghamton area. This is the group that puts on the annual Pride events in Binghamton, among other things. Get involved today!
Equality Binghamton: Working to change laws and minds in New York State, bringing full equality to all of the state's LGBTQ citizens.
It Gets Better Project: The world wide movement started by Dan Savage and his partner Terry. Now, tens of thousands of people, celebrities, and organizations share inspirational messages of hope for LGBT teens who have lost sight of the future.
The Trevor Project: The Trevor Project operates the only nationwide, around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention helpline for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
GLSEN: The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network is the leading national education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for ALL students.
GSA Network: Gay-Straight Alliance Network is a youth leadership organization that connects school-based Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) to each other and community resources. Focussed on California GSAs, but lots of useful information about starting and running a Gay-Straight Alliance in any school.
Youth Resource: A Web site by and for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) young people, Youth Resource takes a holistic approach to sexual health and exploring issues of concern to GLBTQ youth.
