Volunteer
About Volunteering: Volunteers are an important part of Identity Youth Center. Without Volunteers, we would not be able to provide the level of service that we do. Volunteers contribute their time, resources, knowledge, wisdom, experiences, enthusiasm, and love to Identity’s Youth. LGBTQ youth are at greater risk than their straight peers for drug and alcohol abuse, dropping out of school, and even suicide. Studies show that having a positive adult influence in their lives is a significant factor for LGBTQ youth in developing into healthy adults. The seemingly simple act of spending a few hours a month with a youth can make a significant difference in their lives!
To volunteer you must:
-Be at least 24 years old -Be able to commit 10 hours a month to volunteering, with a minimum of three months. -Complete volunteer training through the Southern Tier AIDS Program and Identity.
